Born on 21 st Feb, 1942 in Mumbai, Jayshree Gadkar was an actress hailed from Karnataka and she wrote her autobiography called Ashi Mi Jayshri. She acted in more than 250 films, she also directed some of Marathi films like Ashi Asavi Saasu. She was recognized by the global audience from her portrayal of kaushalya of television series of Mahabharata. Her debut movie was Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baje in 1955. The best work according to her was Sangtye Aika. She was married to actor Bal Dhuri. She died on 29 th Aug, 2008. She received awards for her performances in Vaijantha, Saadhi Mansa and Manini.
